In 2017 Shock Brothers Floorcovering had its greatest challenge in completing the largest project in its 20 year history, The Little Caesars Arena. This arena in Midtown Detroit is the new home for the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons.
Before Shock Brothers was able to start the project was continually plagued by delays but the end date of September 2017 had to be met. We could foresee an incredibly compressed schedule to get this flooring in place on time.
The scope of the project was enormous with 25,000 square yards of carpet from Masland, Bentley, Interface, Tai Ping, Milliken and Atlas. 35,000 square feet of Mondo Sports Flooring along with 18,000 square feet of Kolay and Johnsonite Luxury Vinyl Flooring. In addition to this was also 12 miles of Johnsonite rubber base.
Because of the delays in construction most of this work was done in the three months of June, July and August. It took an incredible amount of manpower and many overtime hours to get this project done on time and the Shock Brothers Floorcovering installation team showed what they can accomplish when an impossible mission is put before them. The job was completed very successfully on time and the client was very happy with the final results and the quality of work.
